StashSpace slated to launch August 18th
StashSpace is now out of the bag. We will be officially launching our service on August 18th, and will be demonstrating our product at the upcoming TechCrunch party in San Francisco.
Based on our Afiniti technology developed at HomeMovie.Com, StashSpace is an easier way to digitize, manage and publish your video library online.
What is StashSpace?
Most importantly, we are NOT a new company looking for a quick cash-out. We are NOT the latest "Me-Too" Video Sharing company to get VC funding. We are NOT an ego-casting enabler that will shower you with thousands of copyrighted clips or teenagers dancing around.
We ARE the online effort of a privately-funded company that spearheaded Consumer Video to DVD conversion starting in 2000. We were alive during the last big boom and bust in consumer-oriented VC-funded Video-Sharing companies (do names like Earthnoise, OnlineHomeVideo, MyVideoShare, Addwebvideo, Clipscom ring a bell?), but instead of chasing a non-existant market (at the time), we instead led the way in offering Video to DVD Conversion Services as we waited for the market to arrive. Our first offering was a $99 videotape to DVD conversion in 2000 back when blank DVDs were selling for $45 (our first order of blank DVDs was for one thousand) and DVD burners were going for $4,500.
We launched our first web-based video and DVD editing system in April, 2002 and our first full-length DVD streaming product in 2003. We have serviced the professional video industry since our start, working with over 3,000 professional videographers over the last 5 years. This has fine-tuned our system within a VERY demanding industry. We have shared some of our customer's most important memories with hundreds of thousands of their best friends and family members.
Much has changed since we started, but not our original vision -- to provide the everyday consumer with an easy way to capture, manage, upload, store and share their life's video memories... from the most important to even the most trivial. Along the way we've added new features to our system -- downloads to your Video iPod, direct capture from your videocamera, and tagging/search features for your video clips & photos, to name a few -- and will continue to add features as we grow.
We welcome your feedback and comments as we move forward. Welcome!
